Every Tuesday, I will try and make you aware of useful tips or tricks you might not know about to help you make the best of your Chalk Couture products. It might be about an accessory, or chalk or surface… whatever gem of wisdom and experience my little heart desires to impart to you.
So having just returned from Paris, I’m getting back in the swing of Jersey again (I missed you Antonino’s Pizza) Being back home with my guys has been nice – couldn’t wait to give them big squeezy Mama Bear hugs. I did have a fantastic time with my chalk family and can’t wait until I see them again.
But I digress… This Tuesday’s subject is Paste Wax.
Paste wax is like Pepto for your chalking surface. It coats it with a nice layer of protection so you don’t end up with bleeding ulcers or, in this case, not- sticking paste and transfer.
To use the paste you just follow Mr Miyagi’s lead- Wax On. Wax Off.
Rub the wax on – easy with the lipstick-like setup that fits nicely in your hand. Then, with a clean cloth, buff in circles to rub the wax in and remove any excess wax.
Wax for paste adhesion Wax works great to smooth out your surface and give the paste something more to adhere to. It can be used on most one-application surfaces or non-Chalk Couture™ surfaces.
Wax for transfer adhesion Wax also assists with helping your chalk transfer stick to your surface better by smoothing out any bumps or divots there might be on the surface.

Wax don’ts Do not wax Couture Gallery™ or Couture Boutique™ boards. They won’t handle it well. It makes things look smeary and gross. Just don’t.
