Patriotic Swag Garland for the Porch

So here in the USA we have a National Holiday coming up – Memorial Day. It’s a day to honor those that lost their lives while fighting for our country. It’s marked by parades, gatherings and ceremonies honoring military. It’s also the unofficial start of summer, marked by trips down the shore here in Jersey.

Along with all the fanfare, most folks decorate with red white and blue colors and stars like the US Flag. I’ve done all sorts of projects for my porch and this is one of them. I wanted to make a Patriotic Swag Garland for my front door. Well, you know that saying about measuring twice and cutting once? Yeah, that didn’t quite work out. Too short for the door. But that’s okay, cos the lemonade from my lemons here is that I can use it on my fireplace mantle, so happy accident, yay!

Today I created, what I had originally intended to be, a front door swag! However, I did not make it long enough- BUT- no worries! I love it EVEN MORE as Patriotic Swag on my Fireplace Mantle!!!!! I used our Black Chalkable Chips, Beach Days Minis Transfer, plus Cadet, Candy Apple, and Bright White Chalk Pastes. All of the ribbon I purchased online at Michaels. I am also using the Fuzzing Towel, Transfer Trimmers, Fine Mist Sprayer, Stir Sticks, Color Trays and Mini Squeegees.

It does take some time to tie all the ribbons and chips together, but it turned out great.

Check out the video below to see how I created this beautiful project.

Stay Safe and Chalk on!
