Quick Project Work Hard Play Hard Transfer on Chalkboard

This is a quick one, but that’s all we really need on a Saturday, right? Here on the East Coast we are having decent weather so it’s time to go get some fresh air. This project was a little tricky and I learned a couple things.

Measure twice. Chalk Once.

Well, sorta. One thing you should do before you get all set up is to make sure your design actually fits on the surface you pick. This one was pretty tight so what I did was chalk the first word close to the top as possible, then peeled up the transfer, dried the paste on the surface a little, them moved the transfer up a bit and chalk the rest. It just fit.

Fuzz. Fuzz. Fuzz.

The new transfers can be super sticky, so before you adjust your transfer, lay it on your fuzzing cloth and fuzz fuzz fuzz that transfer. This makes it a little less sticky so your paste doesn’t get pulled up when you peel the transfer. Like this:

I was able to dry the paste on the surface, reposition the transfer over the word work and re-chalk the word work. It’s tricky but it can be done.

Check out the video below to see how I made this fun project.

Stay safe and Chalk On!
