We’ve all done it. I know I have a number of times. Sip and Paint parties. If you don’t know what I mean, it’s simply where you sit with a bunch of friends, do a craft and enjoy a tasty adult beverage. It’s so much fun! Wouldn’t be even more fun to have your friends over to your home for a sip and chalk? Make it a Pajama Sip and Chalk! Get comfy in your pjs and slippers and enjoy making something beautiful while you’re enjoying your friends company and an adult beverage. It’s so easy to do and here’s how.
Start Planning Your Sip and Chalk: Invite Friends
Plan your event by first picking a date and figuring out who will be there. You’ll need a head count to plan for supplies, appetizers and drinks. You can do invites several ways. Word of Mouth with a running list, use an online third party like evite.com, or create a Facebook event if everyone’s on Facebook.
Plan your Sip and Chalk
So now that you have friends and a date, you have some decisions to make. You can make it a theme or just go with the flow. When picking the theme, keep it simple. Winter Holiday themes are fun and easy this time of year. Luau or beach/tropical themes are great for decor and drinks!
The next is whether you do potluck food or supply it yourself. Depending on the friends, I usually ask everyone to bring something. It’s never been a problem, especially if I’m supplying the beverages.
Get your Sip and Chalk Supplies
This is the easy part. Chalk Couture usually has Kits you can purchase where everything you need is bundled together to make one complete project. Surface, paste, squeegee and transfer – all for one price. Right now there are some appealing kits for the season. All kits can be found here when available. Right now, the Trio of Trees is a good one to get. Simply elegant.
There are instruction videos to be had to show with everyone so you get your best result. Here’s the one for this kit. If you’re not comfortable with that, I would be willing to do a quick Zoom into your party and instruct you all on chalking. Just contact me here and I’ll coordinate with you. (You will need a Zoom capable laptop or tablet for this)
So have a great time with your friends and plan yourself a Sip and Chalk!
