Tip and Trick Tuesday: 5 Reasons You Need Chalk Couture Color Trays

Tip & Trick Tuesday

Tip & Trick Tuesday. Every Tuesday, I will try and make you aware of a useful tip or trick you might not know about to help you make the best of your Chalk Couture products. It might be about an accessory, or chalk or surface… whatever gem of wisdom and experience my little heart desires to impart to you. This week I’ll show one of the most fantastic tools Chalk Couture has come out with in a while: Chalk Couture Color Trays.

So the fine folks at Chalk Couture have done it again. The accessory everyone’s been dreaming about: Color Trays. Small but mighty, they come in a pack of 24 and are plastic. These trays will be your right hand man, or woman, when it comes to handling paste. And here’s why…

Chalk Couture Color Trays
So useful in so many ways.

5.Dispensing your Paste Singles. So you have these paste singles but what do you do with them to use the paste? Squirt it on a plate? Nah. Now you can just put the paste in a Chalk Couture Color Tray. It contains it. It has raised edges so nothing oozes out. You can also scrape the excess off on these slightly raised edges. Then, when you’re done, cleanup is so easy to just rinse them off. And because they come in 24 packs, there’s plenty for every color in your project.

Just scoop out paste with a stir stick and you’re good.

4.Containing your dirty accessories. So here’s a tired tale for you. You use your paste accessories and they’re dirty and you put them aside, usually right on the table or on your self healing mat. Then you’re done your project and the clean up begins. Ugh. Messy Jessy is here to tell you this is the most unappealing part of chalking. If I don’t put my arm in it, it stains my table or mat. These Chalk Couture Color Trays go a long way in containing the mess to just the tray and the squeegees and sticks. Now if they could only come out with a Chalk Couture Cleanup Fairy that takes care of that unpleasantness, I’d be beyond thrilled. (Ya hear me Chalk Couture?)

Bibbidi Bobbidi boo! Bye bye paste mess!

3.Hold Clean Accessories. So again, Messy Jessy has stuff scattered all over my work area. Then, in the middle of a live video, I find myself at a loss for locating a tool. The yawn-inducing pause is no fun for my viewer and the scramble to find stuff is no good for me or my blood pressure. I find myself screaming “Serenity Now!!” in my head. The solution? Designate a tray for stir sticks and a tray for squeegees. Voila, no more searching.

2.Mix paste colors. Wanna get creative and mix some paste colors? With the Chalk Couture Color Trays, its so easy to drop some paste on a tray and mix. No fuss. No muss. Not a Single Cuss.(well, maybe one or two) If your color mix results in mud, it’s okay. Easy cleanup! Just start over. That’s what creating is all about. Happy accidents.

1.Mix paste to make paint. A bit ago, I showed you how to make sorta watercolor from chalk paste. (Check it here if you missed it.) Now you can just mix it up in a Chalk Couture Color Tray. Yay!

That’s my tips for this week. Happy Chalking friends!
