Peace on Earth Dove transfer on Chalkboard Globe

At some point in time, I picked up this chalkboard globe by American Crafts. (It’s been a while so much so that I forgot why) How about a little world peace?

The Globe. Kinda cool, huh? Get it here.

Okay, I just happen to have the perfect design. It’s the Peace on Earth Dove transfer. This will also be a teaching moment for you friends as I tackle the sometimes tricky task of chalking on a rounded surface. I think it turned out great and I can see it as a nice decor addition, like a table centerpiece perhaps?

I used Shimmer Red, Shimmer Gold, and Meadow Chalk Pastes. I also used the Fuzzing Towel, Self Healing Mat, Transfer Trimmers, Fine Mist Sprayer, Stir Sticks, Mini Squeegee.

Check out the video below to see how I created this project.

Minis Series Part 3 Warm Wishes Minis with Ornament Minis & Chalk Chips

Finally, the third and final installment of the Minis Series. The Big Ol’ Tree is begging for a few more decorations, so who am I to not oblige. It would be like Buddy the Elf not eating tubes of cookie dough. It would be like the Grinch NOT stealing Christmas. Nope. One more time…with feeling!

Here’s the third video and final video of the series. I used the Warm Wishes and Joyful Holiday Transfers. I used Chalk Chips in White and Black, and Ornament Minis. I used Bright White, Shimmer Gold, Black Velvet, and Shimmer Red Chalk Pastes. I also used the Self Healing Mat, Transfer Trimmers, Fine Mist Sprayer, Fuzzing Towel, Stir Sticks, and Mini Squeegees.

so pretty and easy to make

Check out the video below to see how I made these gorgeous ornaments.

Shop Small Today on Small Business Saturday.

Okay, as you may have guessed, I’m one of those people. Black Friday Shoppers. I actually skip eating Thanksgiving dinner and start Thursday night, take a little break, then go out some more. But one thing I also take part in is Small Business Saturday.

Whether it’s your downtown gift shop or coffee shop or a local maker, I encourage you to support your small local businesses. Aside from stimulating your local economy, you’re assuring your friends and neighbors thrive and survive. So skip the big box and internet stops, check out and buy some cool local stuff.

To celebrate Small Business Saturday, I am offering special bundles for my customers! (sorry no Chalk Couture designers) Come check them out here.

Thankful and Blessed With Chalk Couture.

So it’s that time of year in America. Thanksgiving. It began as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. In similar form today, we celebrate the blessings of the year. We take time from our busy lives to get together with family and friends and celebrate us.

For me in particular, I have much for which to be thankful. I am fortunate that I continue to do well with Chalk Couture. Through my hard work and dedication and Chalk’s quality, relevant products, I am able to work what has become a smashingly successful at home business.

I fully provide for my family and my husband is able to enjoy his dream job.

My son is a happy, healthy teenage boy who’s doing well in school and enjoying basketball.

My whole heart. In one pic.

I am thankful that I am able to help others. I contribute to community charitable groups and my school district. I also support Chalk Couture’s favorite charity, Watts of Love. I love the idea of helping to provide such a simple necessity as a light source for those in rural or third world places with little or no electricity.

I am truly blessed with my family and friends. My Chalk Family is a true blessing. They are so supportive and caring. It’s amazing to have met and acquired such fantastic people in my life, I can’t even begin to describe it. ( particularly my assistant, who is the Bomb. Dot. Com. )

I have been able to make my house my dream home. No more looking at Farmhouse design magazines and dreaming. It’s reality here. Here are a couple of pics.

Here’s a walkthrough of the whole thing if you’re curious.

But let’s be not so serious for a sec. My success has also been a blessing for my habit: Collecting Rae Dunn stuff. I am OBSESSED, to put it lightly. Here’s a shot or two of my Rae.

Also thankful that Black Friday is a thing and I can continue my tradition of getting with my girls and shopping all day and night.

So I think I’ve about covered it. Happy Thanksgiving America. Take pause and reflect at some point in your day and enjoy.

Tip & Trick Tuesday: Transfer Trimmer – Not Just Pretty Scissors.

Tip & Trick Tuesday

It’s Tip & Trick Tuesday. Every Tuesday, I will try and make you aware of a useful tip or trick you might not know about to help you make the best of your Chalk Couture products. It might be about an accessory, or chalk or surface… whatever gem of wisdom and experience my little heart desires to impart to you. This week: the Transfer Trimmer.

The Transfer Trimmer. So pretty in its Couture Teal-ness. But it’s not just another pretty face, oh no. The Transfer Trimmer is the Goddess of Scissors in both form and function.

They’re so pretty…pretty useful!

Chalk Couture has this one down pat. What a great piece of equipment.

Handles. The handles are very comfortable. They are the same size, cos scissors, but feel smooth and are durable. Haven’t had any rough spots develop yet and don’t expect to so there’s that.

Blades. Sharp. Like Edward Scissorhands sharp. Be careful in handling and using them.

Ooo they are sharp, my friends!

The blades are slightly longer than other scissors, so you can make longer cuts and spend less time cutting. Also, best of all, they are silicon coated. Yea, so what, you ask? Here’s the thing: less to no sticking to your transfers! Cut that transfer with confidence with these babies. You won’t be trying to peel your transfer off like your shoe off a glue trap or shaking like a Polaroid picture in frustration.

And, finally there is that familiar happy teal color and branding we all know and love. Sufficiently logo’d and colored for your Chalk Couture accessories collection.

Have I convinced you? Go get yourself your own. Here.
